Microsoft Buys Powerset
Bill Gate’s baby has once again extended its influential tentacles and this time Microsoft Live Search has acquired Powerset a search entity that is situated in San Francisco. Powerset is touted to be part of the Search Relevance team while retaining its headquarters in SF. Powerset's previous client includes XEROX PARC, and they are expected to use their search engine expertise to help improve Live Search in terms of better quality search results. Live Search is looking to enrich search engine users’ experiences and therefore they have come to the conclusion that buying Powerset is their best bet yet. More employees are needed and Live Search is expected to add their task force this year.
