Posted in Google, Search Engine Optimization on Aug 18, 2008

Sitelinks are the extra links that is found below the URL and description of your web page. Google chooses these sitelinks for your website which sometimes goes a little awry and links you to wrong website. If you discover that there are no sitelinks then you can follow a few simple steps. If you have a site which is totally made in flash then use text links that are standard and which can be parsed by the search engines.

Google recognizes the navigation links for sitelinks. Avoid using too many navigational links as it becomes difficult for Google to search for the best sitelink. In case you have the wrong sitelinks you can remove these links by blocking them after logging in to your Google webmaster tools account. You can only block these links but cannot request for sitelinks to be shown.
