First off, common sense usually goes pretty far. If a page or site links to a bunch of off-topic or low-quality garbage, you can feel safe, assuming the page does not pass link authority. If you have doubts, you probably do not want to link.

Secondly, Google has a toolbar that shows how it currently views a web page or website. The Google toolbar is one of the top search engine optimization tools for a person new to search engine marketing. It works on Windows and is downloadable at http://toolbar.google.com/.

PageRank is a measure of link popularity, which can come and go. It's not hard for a successful business to rent a few high PageRank links into their site and then leverage that link popularity for link exchanges. A site with decent PageRank can get penalized just the same as a site with low PageRank. Usually, you will want to error on the side of caution off the start.

Instead of making PageRank your primary criteria when evaluating a page or site, just think of it as a baseline.

For the past year, many article rewriter scripts and applications have been popping up like wild mushrooms.

Article Rewriter's or Article Spinners, replaces and rewords text and sentences to make them appear unique to readers as well as to search engines. Some rewriter's are capable of making hundreds of different version of the same original article.

Although article rewriter's are far from perfect and sometimes needs a little tweaking here and there, but it's still a handy tool if you don't have an idea or don't have enough time to manually rewrite articles for yourself.

A few hours ago, I found a freely available script that uses Google Translate services to rewrite any ENGLISH text. I've integrated the script to my site and it is freely available to be used by everyone!

Recently, I joined the BlogRush Network. Within days of using it, the BlogRush network announced that it will begin to work on moving to Phase 2. Phased 2 is just one of many major phases to come within the first 6 months to come.

I've used BlogRush for a few weeks now and so far I've gotten a fair amount of referrals or traffic from them. BlogRush only allows blogs in Englis to jopin the network, but I've seen a few chinese language blogs using BlogRush. Fortunately, in Phase 2, BlogRush will begin to detect and delete non-english blogs and spam blogs that are contaminating the network.

For Google, it is important for webmasters to give feedback…it doesn't matter whether it's a positive or a negative tone feedback. Feedbacks are one of the important factor to improve the freshness of the data in Webmaster Tools.

Recently a new site called BlogRush was launched and I decided to try 'em out. Everything is working pretty great. I've got several traffic from the BlogRush widget and I'm quite happy

After a few days signing up with BlogRush, they sent a newsletter about their new changes.

The statistics page at BlogRush is currently disabled…temporarily. Here are the changes that BlogRush will implement:

• 100% manual blog review: Might be a little unrealistic but BlogRush says this will keep spam sites from messing and poisoning the BlogRush network.
• More categories: This is to improve relevancy of links in the widget.
• Improved reporting: Low traffic members may get more bonus credits.
• Improved network distribution: balance between building and using credit points.

1. For your blogs (eg. Wordpress) add a "Similar Posts" or "Related Posts" feature. I recommend using the Similar Posts plugin.

2. Make a list of popular posts (Top 5 or Top 10 list) and feature it preferably on your sidebar or anywhere that is suitable for your blog/site.

3. Build a quality and long-term inbound links. - Go to the Link Building section for more help.

4. Open an account at Technorati and claim your blog. Make use of the Technorati tags.

5. Do a sticky post which are keyword rich that always appears on your homepage. You can also do a separate sticky post for each of your category to spice things up a little. WP-Sticky is highly recommended.

6. Take advantage of the Buzzlogic tool to identify the influential bloggers and get them to link to you by referring their site to your readers first. Get into their blogroll as trackbacks and comment will not do much good.

Out of 10 person, maybe only 1 person who knows how to identify a site with a fake pagerank and the others might not even know the fake from the real thing. Luckily there is a PageRank Fraud detection tool that helps people to know if the pagerank of a certain site is valid.

Fake Pagerank fraud are now becoming very common to the world wide web. Scammers usually lurk around forums looking for inexperienced webmasters to prey on. Most of the times, they will act like they are a newbie and they ask for advice about what should they do with their newly acquired high pagerank domain. Another popular place where these scammers sell their fake pagerank domains is eBay.
