Directory Traffic12.26.10

Directories rarely provide much direct traffic. The bulk of the value of a directory listing is in how search engines evaluate the links. Occasionally, you will find a general directory that does provide good traffic – that is the exception more than the rule.

Niche directories tend to drive decent traffic. Any site that ranks well in related search results may be a good place to get a link, because ranking for relevant search queries means they stand a good chance of being a well-trusted link source and sending you direct visitors.

BlogRush – Phase 206.04.10

BlogRush Phase 2

Recently, I joined the BlogRush Network. Within days of using it, the BlogRush network announced that it will begin to work on moving to Phase 2. Phased 2 is just one of many major phases to come within the first 6 months to come.

I've used BlogRush for a few weeks now and so far I've gotten a fair amount of referrals or traffic from them. BlogRush only allows blogs in Englis to jopin the network, but I've seen a few chinese language blogs using BlogRush. Fortunately, in Phase 2, BlogRush will begin to detect and delete non-english blogs and spam blogs that are contaminating the network.

Here are a few 'Phase 2' sneak peaks.

- New User Interface
